Prof K Satku is a well-recognized name amongst the medical fraternity in Singapore and the Region. He has received many awards, including the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2009, and the Meritorious Service Medal at the 2014 National Day Awards in Singapore. These two awards were in recognition of his contributions to policy formulation, professional education and standards, and healthcare innovation during his tenure from 2004 to 2013 as Director of Medical Services (DMS), Ministry of Health. As DMS, he was responsible for advising the government on health matters and the development of Singapore's healthcare services. Prof Satku is currently the Chairman of the Singapore Health Sciences Authority (HSA). Professor Satku continues his clinical practice as an orthopaedic surgeon at the National University Health System (NUHS) specialising in disorders of the knee, as well as general orthopaedics. He is also involved in both undergraduate and post graduate education and is the author of numerous scientific research articles.

America, continental Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia and the Chairman of its wholly owned subsidiary, HCL Singapore Pte Ltd, which directly addresses the markets of Asia Pacific and Australia.
